Rick Baker was born in Hastings, Nebraska and has lived in Omaha for the past 38 years. He and his wife, Gloria, have 2 wonderful grown children. Prior to retirement, Rick began a hobby of photography. His first pictures were taken with a Canon Elan IIE 35mm film camera, shooting Fuji Velvia slide film. For the last twenty years, his passion of scenic photos has taken him to every state except Nevada and Michigan, photographing everything along the way. He has also traveled to Canada, Mexico, and four Caribbean islands finding beautiful scenery as well. In the late 1990's, he started to use digital photography, and his current photographs are taken using a Canon 5D camera with 12.8 megapixels and full frame images. Rick prints, packages, and sells prints and matted pictures of his best images on Ebay and at local art fairs in Omaha. All of his framed pictures are proudly displayed in a walnut frame inlaid with "curly" maple made by his own father. Rick states, "I feel my scenic photographs celebrate the natural beauty that surrounds us. I am able to capture emotions of being in special places as well as allowing me to revisit the beautiful locations where they were taken. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoy taking them."
